Mamta Sagar’s Kannada translation of The Forty Rules of Love a novel originally by Elif Shafak tells two parallel stories that mirror each other across two very different cultures and seven intervening centuries. This novel tells the story of a 13th-century Persian Sufi Dervish Shams of Tabriz, and his inspirational relationship with Rumi, the greatest poet. The flower illustrations, add to the essence of the book. The flowers hold an importance in the tradition of Turkey, thus relating to Rumi. The Botanical drawings are done digitally on Adobe Photoshop.
The book along with the botanical illustrations were published in January 2018.
